Dan and I have been making plans for winter. We have decided that it is too late in the year now to head south. We have taken a mooring in the Falmouth Harbour for the winter for Hestur. We are still in the process of making our own plans for what we are up to during the winter. We will return to Hestur in April/ May to carry on our south bound trip then , with the pleasure of time to take some of the many and varied ports on route.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been enjoying our time in Falmouth, getting to know the area, the people inc. some of the boat fraternity, and the Chain Locker (superb pub on the pier).
We have had some lovely days: walks and cycles in the area, taking in some of the South West Coast Path, a long time in the Maritime museum, looking in shops and galleries and a rainy afternoon in the swimming pool- wave machines and flumes with Nick ( Dans brother) and Maddy.
And some interesting evenings, drinks and dinner aboard Hestur and other boats, with some of our anchoring neighbors, book launch in the Falmouth Book Store of Luke Powel’s new book, cinema and a very interesting and enjoyable lecture last night at the Falmouth Art College from the Sculptor Richard Wentworth.
I have been painting, some of them shown above.
I will up date with more in time.
Cheers
