Stokes Croft to Clifton with the CARGO BOX

Today was the debut of the CARGO BOX, appearing at the ‘ Royal York Crescent Garden Christmas Fayre’ on the most glorious day: bright, blue, cloudless sky and warm!

The CARGO BOX is the third incarnation of the CARGO project. I started this ongoing and evolving project of touring exhibitions back in 2008 with CARGO1. CARGO1 was a touring group exhibition on the west coast of Scotland, traveling by sailing boat. In 2011 I launched CARGO CANOE – touring and exhibiting silver jewellery by Canoe (actually a Kayak)

AND NOW I BRING YOU – THE CARGO BOX  –  A touring box exhibiting my art and design work throughout Bristol over for the foreseeable future…

The mode of transport this time for the CARGO : by foot.

The Box

The box has been beautifully and skillfully made by Dan. It is mounted on two excellent kids bike wheels which I acquired from the Bristol Bike Project and has two little handles to wheel it along with.  The Box opens out to form a little gallery display surface, and also provides space below (in the main hold)  for more stock etc.

I have been busy in the studio these past two weeks working on new work for various Christmas Markets taking place around Bristol over this next month. New work includes; silver jewellery, wooden christmas decorations and characters, prints, drawings, painting and Christmas Cards!

The market was lovely today, it was in the iconic Clifton are of Bristol, and as I said it was a stunning day.

I will be doing two markets this weekend: The RYC Christmas Fayre – 11 – 3pm today, and tomorrow the Hotwells Primary School Christmas Market 2 – 4pm

Next Weekend – Picton Street Christmas Fayre 12 – 9pm Saturday 15th and on Sunday 16th The Made in Bristol Gift Fair in the Colston Hall 10 an till 2pm http://madeinbristol.blogspot.co.uk/

The following weekend – Sat 22nd I will be at the Harbourside Market on Bordeaux Quay 11am – 4pm

And perhaps popping up through the week at various other markets and events – I will post details!Royal York Crescent in the sun a roost The Market Stall High Street brooches DSCF0431 DSCF0427

  1. Hi from a cold but lovely Ullapool day. Your Cargo Box is great. I bet the other stall holders who move table’s and stuff around are dead envious! Missing your xmas merchandise in Ullapool but hey I guess we have to share.
Best wishes to all, Love Jan & Topher
